(Zillennials — part of Gen Z — exhibit independence and decisiveness, and are more likely to focus on solving problems and creating ideas, says Joseph Pidoriano, 23 and a businessman himself. The New Dorp resident is one of four young entrepreneurs who we’ll be highlighting who head up local businesses and are demonstrating insight and perspective into their professions during a challenging time.)
Today: Meet Sam Corso of TechSuite
TechSuite is a full-service software consulting business that provides UI/UX design, web and mobile app development, quality assurance testing, agile scrum project management, and DevOps implementation services.
Owner Sam Corso, 23 and a West Brighton native, is a senior full stack engineer, certified professional scrum master (PSM), and entrepreneur who enjoys working with other business owners to make their software vision a reality.
In simple terms, scrum is a framework that helps teams work together and manage work through meetings, tools and roles, and a full-stack engineer is a web developer who works the front and back ends of a website.
In addition to service offerings, they provide a six-week online training program for non-technical startup founders.
“What inspired me to start my business is that I was working as a freelance software developer for several years, and had an inclination to become an entrepreneur, so this seemed like the best way to do both. I had a special interest in working with startup founders and small business owners to get involved at an early stage where I felt I could have the most positive impact,” Corso said.
He prides himself on globally-diverse tech talent, robust project management process, and proprietary internal tools.
“Our process has worked so well over the years that this led us to create the training program during the pandemic in order to provide this knowledge in a digital format. It’s been a little over four years since I have been in business and many people have experienced tremendous benefits from TechSuite,” he added.
Corso explains being in the software business he’s fortunate that the industry hasn’t seen the same degree of hardship as many others. Business did slow down a bit, but it’s now mostly back to normal. Most work is done remotely and it will probably stay that way for the foreseeable future.
“One thing that has changed for our business was the release of a new product offering,” he points out. “Parallel to our managed service offerings, we are often consulting startup founders on things like product strategy, rapid prototyping, concept validation, technical hiring, and project management. The process works because of the success it generates for clients, saving them thousands of dollars and months of time on their software projects.”
During the pandemic, they had the idea to package all of this up into an online training program that founders can access at their own leisure from the comfort of their home.
He now has a six-week digital course which comes with access to a Facebook community and one-on-one coaching calls. Learn more about the program on training.techsuite.io. on Instagram and Facebook as well as on TechSuite.io.
