The Akron Zoo is about to glow under some one million lights for the holiday season.
The zoo is bringing back its popular Wild Lights nights where guests can visit after dark and see the animals and view dozens of festive light displays.
And for the first time since the pandemic, advance reservations will not be required for guests.
The event will run select nights from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 26-28, Dec. 3-5, 10-12, 17-23 and 26-30.

This year’s offering will include new decorations in the Lehner Family Foundation Wild Asia section that opened to the public for the first time earlier this year.
Special drink and food offerings will be available in the zoo’s Komodo Kingdom Café along with s’mores and even adult beverages.
Santa will make a special appearance nightly through Dec. 23 and then the Grinch, Snow Queen, Snow Princess and Snowman will be at the zoo for photos Dec. 26 to 30.
Tickets purchased online in advance at https://www.akronzoo.org/ are $13 for adults, $6 for children and $3 for the parking and shuttle fee.
Tickets purchased at the gate are $16 for adults, $12 for children and $5 for parking and shuttle fee.
Special private 45-minute golf cart tours of the zoo are available for $275 and must be booked in advance online.
The zoo is now in the midst of its winter hours and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a $9 admission.
The zoo is not open during the day on Wild Light nights and is also closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Masks are not required outdoors at the zoo, but guests will be asked to wear one when indoors and also to be socially distanced.
