If dining out on Thanksgiving has become an annual tradition, you will find fewer options this year.
Several restaurants that have been open on Thanksgiving in the past say they will be closed for the holiday due to staff shortages. (Char Steak and Lounge at the Strathallan Hotel, a popular place for holiday dining, continues to be closed after a fire in mid-October.)
You’ll also find that prices have increased considerably — some Thanksgiving meals are $10 more per person than they were in 2019.
Also, it bears reminding that chefs and wait staff are sacrificing their own holidays to work on Thanksgiving, so more-generous-than-usual tipping would be appropriate.
