Le Creuset is known for its colorful, enameled cast-iron cookware. From deep red Dutch ovens to pastel purple mugs, the brand offers something for every kitchen. However, on Monday, Oct. 11, Le Creuset released a new color for fall — and it’s a beautiful blue Chambray.
The Chambray Collection features a faded light blue gradient design with gray undertones. Yes, it looks a lot like your favorite blue jeans (although real chambray is actually a blue cotton fabric). The collection also features complementary gold knobs and a glossy coating. It pairs well with white and neutral kitchens to add a crisp, yet light pop of color.
Le Creuset previously launched a new blue color in September 2021 called Azure, and it has a similar gradient pattern. However, Azure is a brighter, bolder royal blue color with silver knobs.
You can find the new Chambray-colored cookware at Le Creuset and Crate & Barrel, both online and in stores. There are seven different items in the new Chambray color, including a Dutch oven in a couple of sizes, a skillet, a saucepan, a square grill pan and an oval baker. However, this color has proven to be popular. Since launching a few days ago, many pieces are already sold out.
You can check out a few items from of the Le Creuset Chambray Collection below that are still in stock. However, if you like what you see, you may want to get it fast.
Le Creuset 5 1/2-Quart Dutch Oven, $370
Le Creuset first started in 1925 with the cocotte (the French word for Dutch oven). So, you could say the brand is an expert in making the versatile cookware item. Luckily, you can get its Signature Round Dutch Oven in several sizes in the new Chambray color, including a 4 1/2-quart, 5 1/2-quart and 7 1/2-quart size. (The 4 1/2-quart size is currently sold out on Le Creuset’s website, though.)
Le Creuset 3 1/2-Quart Sauteuse, $180 (Orig. $300)
A sauteuse is a lot like a Dutch oven. The difference is that its sides are sloped like a frying pan, and it’s not as deep as a Dutch oven. According to Le Creuset, it’s your everyday pan for sautéing, searing, braising and even baking.
Le Creuset 9-Inch Signature Skillet, $150
The skillet is one of the most-used pieces of cookware in any kitchen. Since this one is cast iron, it’s safe to use on the stove, in the oven, on the grill or just about anywhere. It’s available in two sizes in the Chambray color, but the 10 1/4-inch is already sold out.
