A small, high end, full service interior design firm based in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Designer/Project Manager to oversee multiple projects from start to finish throughout all phases of the design process.
Our current projects include Spanish estates in Montecito and Malibu, a post modern masterpiece in Beverly Hills, a new retail concept in Culver City and many more. We take pride in offering our A-list clientele a unique approach to the design process, treating each home as an extension of its occupant and never creating the same interior twice. As such, creative dexterity, a love for eclecticism and an appreciation of many architectural styles and periods is paramount to success in this position. No less important is the ability to be sensitive to clients’ needs, lifestyles, timelines, budgets and desire for homes that are as livable as they are beautiful.
The right candidate must have 3-5 years experience in the industry (both in decor and construction) in a similar role, familiarity with international and local design resources, a strong work ethic, ability to think creatively and multitask effectively between projects and clients in a fast paced, fun environment.
Primary responsibilities would include:
-Collaborating with Principal on schematic design and design development
-Collaborating with Principal on the design of custom furnishings and architectural features
-Creating design presentations and preparing material and mood boards for client meetings
-Sourcing furniture, fixtures, finishes and fabric through local and online resources
-Drafting plans and elevations in AutoCAD
-Creating and working in 3D models
-Generating proposals and purchase orders in Ivy
-Overseeing the progress of custom commissions
-Developing and maintaining furnishing and construction schedules
-Developing and maintaining project budgets and spec books
-Liaising with clients, consultants and vendors
-Assisting the Principal with installs, styling and photoshoots
You’d be a good fit if:
-You have 3-5 years experience as a designer or project manager at a boutique firm and can seamlessly transition to leading multiple projects in various stages of completion without a large learning curve
-You are familiar with the world of high end furniture galleries, designers, trade resources and antique dealers in Los Angeles and abroad
-You have experience working on remodels and ground up construction, understand the process and can read and redline plans
-You are proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Ivy, Adobe and Google Suites
-You like working on a small team where you have a close relationship with the Principal designer and your colleagues and can jump in to help out others when needed
-You have strong communication skills, both in person and over email, great personal style and are confident leading client and vendor meetings and liaising with your team
-You are highly organized, pay close attention to details and don’t let things slip through the cracks
-You have strong time management skills, can work independently without needing direction and multitask efficiently
-You are enthusiastic, self motivated and always think one step ahead when approaching a problem
-You want a flexible schedule, the ability to work from home sometimes and can handle a sometimes unpredictable workload
-You have a passion for and familiarity with the history of decorative arts, design and architecture
-You are good at mixing design styles and periods when sourcing and conceiving spaces
-You have impeccable taste and a positive attitude!
