Tim Barber Architects, a Los Angeles-based architecture firm, is seeking a full-time Interior Architecture Design Associate with five years of professional experience and an enthusiasm for residential architecture. Our studio specializes in traditional and contemporary single-family custom home design with a focus on advocating for and integrating sustainable systems in all projects.
Design & Documentation tasks include:
• As-built measurement and drafting
• Drafting and detailing of Interior Architecture elevations and Construction Document level details
• Drafting and development of Interior Architecture schedules (e.g. hardware, tile and stone, finish and trim, etc.)
• Support Interior Architect and Job Captain in client communications (including email)
• Support Interior Architect and Job Captain in development of client presentations
• Support Interior Architect and Job Captain with coordination of design consultants and vendors
• Support Interior Architect and Job Captain with site visits and field notes, as needed
• Support Interior Architect and Job Captain with organization and curation of Interior Library and Concepts Library
• Working a project through the design process as part of a team
• This position will report directly to the Interior Architecture Job Captain
Required Software skills:
• AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch
Up, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Mira
• Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Bluebeam Revu, Go To Meeting and Billquick
Required
Competencies:
• Proficiency in drawing and rendering techniques (both digital and hand)
• Understanding of building materials and construction methods
• Understanding of architecture history
General & Administrative
Responsibilities:
• Maintain timely, accurate and kind team-member relations at all times
• Maintain timely, accurate and kind client relations at all times
• Maintain accurate timesheets
Experience
Requirements:
• Professional/Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture, a plus but not required
• Five (5) years of experience in Residential Design/Detailing
• Shop drawings creation and review
