With the latest update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players now have access to all kinds of new features, including new pro decorating for island houses. Fans have eagerly anticipated several of the update’s new additions, such as the return of Brewster’s coffee shop and the opportunity to cook in-game. One feature of the update sure to make waves among players with a passion for interior design is the new Pro Decorating License.

Decorating one’s home has been a highly popular part of Animal Crossing: New Horizons since its release in 2020. Social media tags and accounts dedicated to players’ elaborate interior designs appeared online in droves, showcasing all kinds of creative home décor. Whether the house is specially furnished according to a theme, or if a player simply wants it to look nice and neat, more decorating options are always a plus. Players looking to spruce up their island home should seek out the Pro Decorating License as soon as they’re able. With the license, players can put an accent wall in any room and hang items from the ceiling. For players who update their homes for the seasons, now is the perfect time to start trying out new decoration possibilities. Since the Animal Crossing 2.0 update introduces thousands of new items, a dramatic redecoration is surely on many players’ to-do lists. Even if one favors a less elaborate approach to interior design, these new features are still a fun way to experiment with their home décor.

How to Get a Pro Decorating License in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Acquiring the Pro Decorating License in Animal Crossing is relatively simple. Players simply need to access the Nook Stop, located in Resident Services, to find it. Select “Redeem Nook Miles,” scroll down, then choose “Pro Decorating License” from the list. The License costs 2,500 Nook Miles and players will “learn” it immediately after purchase, similar to DIY recipes and inventory expansions. Once the License has been learned, players can start experimenting with new decorating features to see what fits their home best.

Players can select any wallpaper to create an accent wall, which will apply the wallpaper to only one of the four walls of a room. Items like light fixtures can now be hung from the ceiling, as opposed to relying exclusively on floor or table lamps for stylish sources of light. There are even some items that can only be purchased with a Pro Decorating License as well, making it a sound investment for anyone seeking everything that the Animal Crossing 2.0 update has to offer.
