The holidays arrive with Christmas shows, including the popular “Holiday Pops!” concert featuring the Modesto Symphony Orchestra. Other entertainment Nov. 27 to Dec. 3 includes An Irish Christmas, a Chicago tribute band and more. Here’s a look at some of the entertainment planned.

Holiday Pops

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra returns to the Gallo Center with its “Holiday Pops!” concert. The program conducted by Ryan Murray features Broadway vocalist Ali Ewoldt, along with the symphony’s chorus.

Rockin’ Holiday

The ongoing Rockin’ Holiday at Tenth Street Plaza in Modesto kicks off. The event features lights, garland, retro decorations, snow machine flurries and music. Santa and his elves will make a visit. Rockin’ Holidays continue Thursdays through Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 23.

Irish Christmas

A cast of Riverdance principals and other dancers celebrate the traditions of Christmas in Ireland with An Irish Christmas at the Turlock Community Theatre. There will be Christmas carols as well as music from the Kerry Traditional Orchestra.

Chicago tribute

Moscow-based Leonid & Friends play the music of Chicago. All proceeds from the 11-piece tribute band’s show at the State Theatre benefit Hope Haven West and Royal Family Kids’ Camp.

Sounds of Sinatra

The Sinatra at the State show features local performers singing holiday tunes and the crooner’s music. Performing will be Matt Henderson, Ann Kline and David & David Halvorson.
