Braintree holding Saturday food collections at town hall

BRAINTREE — Non-perishable food will be collected from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturdays Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 at Braintree Town Hall, 1 John F. Kennedy Memorial Dr. The items collected will go to the Marge Crispin Center’s food pantry to make up holiday food baskets and in regular distributions.

Book sale Saturday at Quincy library

QUINCY – The Thomas Crane Public Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the library, 40 Washington St. For $10, you can fill a large grocery bag with books. For more information, visit thomascranelibrary.org/bookstore.

Family fun Saturday at Milton arboretum

MILTON – The Wakefield Arboretum will hold its Fall Foliage Family Fun Days on Saturday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 7, at the arboretum, 1465 Brush Hill Road, Milton. SCITUATE – The Scituate First Baptist Church will put on a “Holly Days” craft fair from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the church, 660 Country Way. Hingham race to benefit high school sports

HINGHAM – Hingham High School will host its 23rd Annual Marathon Sports Hingham Turkey Trot 5K in person and online at 7:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, at the high school, 17 Union St. Proceeds from the race will benefit the school’s cross-country and track and field programs. Marshfield race to benefit Boys & Girls Club

MARSHFIELD – The MarshVegas Turkey Trot will be held at 7:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, starting at South River School, 59 Hatch St. The 4-mile road race benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield and the entry fee is $30.
