Maisie Williams is an avid New Horizons fan, and her involvement in the project between Nintendo and H&M offers a mixture of player experiences and a focus on the important environmental message both companies are trying to convey. During a special promotion on April 13th, a few players were able to meet with Maisie Williams and Global Sustainability Manager of H&M Pascal Brun for a tour of Looop Island to learn about the location’s message. During this time players could ask questions ranging from decoration choices to personal Animal Crossing preferences.
When asked what her favorite Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager might be, Maisie Williams replied that she likes Apple. Conversation is limited on Animal Crossing islands to short typed questions and reactions when engaging with other players, which can lead to confusing interactions, but apples aren’t just a type of fruit tree in New Horizons. Apple is an adorable, brightly-colored Hamster Animal Crossing Villager with a “Peppy” personality. Her bright colors and cute smile make her a vibrant addition to any Animal Crossing town.
Sharing favorite Animal Crossing villagers is an exciting way for players to connect. Currently, Raymond the cat and Marshall the squirrel are both extremely popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers. Apple has a brightly-colored design similar to other popular villagers like Judy the bear cub or Julian the unicorn, which could appeal to players who enjoy a splash of color when creating their Animal Crossing island communities. Apple also has an apple-inspired room, is skilled at Karaoke, and has a birthday on September 24th, making her a Libra.
The connection Maisie Williams has with Animal Crossing and its community makes her an excellent ambassador for H&M’s mission to spread information about the importance of sustainability in the fashion industry. Maisie Williams has been an active presence in the effort to educate the world about the importance of environmental protection, and her time spent with Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Looop Island is another important step towards spreading the word about the positive impacts of recycling and reusing unwanted things.
