Bodybuilding: Fish Oil Supplements for Pain

The fish oil supplements are one of the smartest purchases you can make a bodybuilder. Its benefits include reduced risk of heart disease and stroke, strengthening the immune system and brain function, and prevent muscle breakdown, promote development, help burn fat and enhance wound healing.

And now, new research conducted at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center adds to the long list of pain relief: essential fatty acids omega-3 fish oil, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) can relieve neck pain and back pain and eliminate the need for medication.

Only in America a quarter of the population need prescriptions annually to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. But the consumption of these drugs can lead to stomach ulcers developing and inhibit muscle development. The fish oil supplements prevent these consequences and provide many benefits.

We know that omega-3 fatty acids either from fish or supplements that can reduce and prevent inflammation. In the most recent study, scientists analyzed 105 effects on pain of fish oil supplements, using 125 people suffering from neck pain or back pain and had to take painkillers regularly.

Patients received two weeks 2,400 mg of omega-3 fatty acids and then 1200 mg daily. After two weeks of supplementation, the patients were asked them to stop taking painkillers. A month later, the test participants received a questionnaire referred to joint pain and back, and side effects of analgesics level of abandonment.

The scientists reported in the journal Surgical Neurology that 60% of participants had completely abandoned the use of analgesics and less pain. 80% of the test participants were satisfied with the improvement and nearly 90% said they would continue taking omega-3 supplements.

These results suggest the researchers made “so much as two-thirds of people who take painkillers regularly could stop using them if they would switch to the omega-3 supplements to relieve pain and inflammation”. The fish oil supplements not only provide health benefits but also bodybuilders relieve joint pain and help prevent its occurrence. Take 1-3 grams daily, along with breakfast and dinner.
