ST. PETERSBURG, FL — If you’ve forgotten how to find fun on the weekend during this crazy year, here are five things to do in St. Petersburg this weekend:
Come Out St. Pete hosts its 4th annual LGBTQ festival on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Central Avenue from 17th Street to 31st Street. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event will provide online virtual segments and outside fun with its participating vendors. Entertainment will also be provided. Masks are required. Masks will also be available as well as hand sanitizer along the route. Social distancing is strongly encouraged at vendor booths and while walking from place to place. Get extra voting inspiration at the Mize Gallery’s current exhibit, “Vote,” that displays art pieces from local artists that make voting look seductive, fun and colorful.
In-person viewing at the Mize Gallery is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or by appointment. Masks are required to enter the gallery, and only six people are allowed inside per viewing.
Mize’s exhibit is open until general election day, Nov. 3.

Check out the pumpkin patch at the St. Pete Pier from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday or stroll over on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. to pick a pumpkin for carving or just decoration. The Palladium hosts its second show on Saturday since reopening after its closing on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Palladium hosts “Nate Najar’s Bossa Nova Guitars with Phill Fest,” at 8 p.m. Nate Najar is an American acoustic guitarist, composer and producer whose sophisticated and often innovative artistry has placed him in many of the world’s most prestigious music venues and produced many superb recordings. Based in South Florida, Phill Fest is an accomplished Brazilian guitarist and composer who has recorded four albums with his acclaimed father, jazz artist Manfredo Fest. Najar and Fest will be joined by Joe Porter on bass and Jean Bolduc on drums. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Seating is limited and masks are required. Iberian Rooster, 475 Central Ave N Unit 100, hosts Saturday Drag Brunch featuring drag performer Ariana Sparkle. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Event Brite.
